PROTECT WOMEN'S RIGHTS - WOMEN'S RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTS

The Women's March in NYC (across the Brooklyn Bridge) on Saturday, May 14, 2022,  was inspiring.  Thousands of people came out in support of a woman's right to choose and to try and reverse the overturning of Roe  v. Wade, which would lead to the banning of safe, legal abortions in over half of the states in our country, even criminalizing the procedure in some states.

The suffering and loss of life from such a ruling will be catastrophic to women across the nation, especially women in low-income and minority communities.  Abortion would be illegal in some states even in cases of rape or incest.  My heart breaks at the thought of the terrible suffering ahead if Roe V. Wade is overturned.  My favorite sign at today's march was this: "Don't Like Abortion?  Don't Have One."   AMEN.  I hope millions of compassionate Americans vote in the November 2022 mid-term elections. Voting is the only way to stop this devastating reversal of a woman's right to make her own choices about her own body.  What a painful time for women, LBGTQ people and people of color.  It seems like all our civil rights gains are being turned back to another century.  There were marches in all 50 states, so I hope the millions of voices somehow can have an impact.  Voting is the best way though of course.  Keep fighting the good fight.
